- I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands. One nation Under anyone’s God or the lack thereof, indivisible except for the civil war with another one comes which it may, with liberty and justice for all . This is how the Pledge of Allegiance should read If We Are Being honest to our country. The indivisible part of the Pledge of Allegiance was added after the Civil War . The god part should read as we are a country of many gods agnostics and atheists . I still pledge allegiance to the flag. I love this country very much. But we have not been acting like a country lately . We are polarized and too obsessed with party lines . I belong to the Democrat Party so that I can vote in the primaries. I used to belong to the liberal party but it has long since been abolished because we don’t have enough liberals. So I had to pick a different party and I wanted to vote in the primaries. I am a liberal person but truly my political view is I am a socialist. This is the first time I have told anyone because are polarized nation has a problem with different beliefs. That is not what our country is about. All parties should be abolished. If a person has enough money to run for president or blank my favorite Bernie Sanders can raise the money on his own and run for president they should be allowed to. I don’t care how matenny people are on the ballot. Maybe the ballot should just be a write in of one of the people who are running no we still need regular ballot I cannot write. Perhaps we need all types of government running not just Republican and Democrat and the occasional third party. I have no clue how to fix the problem in America. But I know something needs to be done. We seem to forget that this is how Civil War start. Instead of caring so much about Republican vs Democrat why don’t we worry about changing this nation in regards to the way we vote . Should it matter to you that I’m a socialist? It probably does not but it probably would if I voted for a Socialist Party. Something needs to change in this country and it needs to happen fast. This last election has made people more Angry than any other election before it. We need to get rid of the Electoral College first and foremost. It was once needed but we are not Farmers with pitchforks anymore and we don’t need someone speaking for us. I don’t know how we would do this change but it must be done for the good of our nation. Perhaps the best way I can help to change the way things are is writing about it right now. It’s not about what party you belong to. It’s about what ideas you stand behind. And many of those ideals were left out of this election. Anyone’s God or lack thereof bless you and wish you luck in the coming years. This country has become a joke to other countries.
