Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

At a time when the country seems lost and in despair, there is hope everywhere. There is a couple in Upstate New York, that is putting their 3D printers to use. They are creating faceplate masks. They gave them to a local hospital, and the word spread that they can do that, and other hospitals in other states are requesting them. There is nothing more beautiful than people helping each other. Medical supplies are in short demand, and this wonderful couple did not despair. They put their heads together and said, we can do this!

There are numerous alcohol distilleries around the country making hand sanitizer. One company is giving away hand sanitizer with every alcohol order. These are just average people. The love across our country is astounding.

When I went on SSD, disability, I could have gone on SSI. I did not legally change my last name to my husband’s name, and when I call to report the birth of my daughter and my marriage, the Social Security speaker asked me if I was sure I wanted to report these things.? By reporting my marriage, I was now not eligible for SSI. I could have not reported it. I could have gotten money for free from my government. But I did not. I know that somewhere there are children and people that need that money more than me. It would be nice to have that income, but I do not need it. My family does just fine on my husband’s income in my small disability check. Taking that money would be scamming so many Americans. I know this is in no way comparable to things that people are doing for this country. But when JFK said, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country I do not think he knew of the Revolution those words began.

Today we are all faced with the same enemy. It is not an enemy of religion. It is not an enemy of different cultures. It is a virus. An enemy that all of us are not used to battling. We must take care of each other. Leave a little toilet paper for your neighbor. Buy food for your elderly neighbor. Say hello to your neighbor as you are social distancing. We will get through this. We are all together. In these times of strife, remember those words of John F Kennedy. No matter if you’re Republican or Democrat, remember that we are all American! There is no place for politics right now. There is only room for love. Thank you all, my fellow Americans. I am so very proud of my country. Just look at the love everywhere, from sea to shining sea.

Divided

Our great nation is divided. Divided more than ever before. We are in a silent Civil War. We are more divided now, then the north was from the south. We are more divided now, then we were during the Great Depression. We were divided by rich and poverty, but we still had hope. During the Civil War, the North and South were divided okay, but we still had hope. I do not see any hope right now in our great nation.

Right now we are divided by party lines. Republicans see Democrats as the enemy. Democrats see Republicans as the enemy. We once were simply opponents. Now we are enemies. We have lost sight of the fact that we are all American. The division we have in this silence Civil War is only getting worse. I do not know how we can fix this. I do not know how we can rise above. We, as a nation, are failing.

My daughter is 9 years old and she hates Donald Trump. She hates him because her parents hate him. I am trying to instill in her to think for herself, to never let her opinion be based on the opinions of others. At the same time, I sure as shit don’t want her to be Republican. So am I practicing what I preach? I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. How does one become totally bipartisan? When I am so left wing and I cannot justify seeing anything good in being right wing. Yet, I know it is my duty to love all Americans. We need to respect each other. We need to love each other. We need to put an end to this silent Civil War.

This year is a year of presidential election. It is a year in which no Republican is going to swing sides and vice a versa. All I can do is hope. A word that has never been more important than it is now. Hope that our great nation can come together. Hope that this silent Civil War won’t get too bloody. Hope that we can come as a nation, vote for the person. Vote for the person and not the party. We all talk a good talk, even me, but do any of us actually do what we say? I vow and I promise to vote for the person. Not the party. .. But I’m still left wing until the day I die

Grateful

Glad for one more day

Reflecting on which way

All that has happened, and to come

Thoughts flow, and comfort some

Even when lost, I am found

Forever, though, I make no sound

Under every stone, you will find me

let us close our eyes, so we can see

Be smarter than smart

Never take a pic that you don’t want me to see.

Never write a note, that you think is only for me.

Never communicate with me just because you think I’m a hottie.

Basically, my friends, never trust nobody!

Never leave your DNA at the crime scene.

Never think you will get away with it. Technology is mean.

Never trust me with your heart, you don’t know who I am

I could be Jack. I could be Jill. Hell, I could be Uncle Sam!

I want my daughter to be smarter than smart.

Never trust technology. Never give away a piece of your heart.

Even what I tell you now, is only an illusion..

When it comes to matters of the heart, you must draw your own conclusion.

You can Google and fact check and think that you found what’s true.

One thing life has taught me is, technology will always fail you.

A winter affair

it is truly a winter affair!

It is cold and icy out there

Come inside, don’t be late!

For it is time to hibernate.

We wait for Saint Nick to arrive.

World is frozen, yet, we are alive.

Much too cold for anger or fear.

For it is the best time of year!

Everyone is Kinder. Everyone is nice.

We hope, Donald Trump doesn’t win twice.

At Christmas time, we simply don’t care,

Whom is in office, it’s a winter affair!

Random acts of kindness, are everywhere.

We don’t see status, or skin color. Your gender we don’t care,

Black Friday is over, we still shop for toys.

Even for those on the naughty list, making too much noise.

It’s that time of year when we just love each other.

Everyone becomes your sister or brother.

Why can’t we be like this the rest of the year?

no hate. No war. No reason for tear.

Everyday, I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I want every day to be Christmas Eve!

when it’s spring, and you start to feel locked in a cage,

Don’t hate on your neighbor. Stop getting road rage!

Remember the happiness you feel right now.

Pass it on, I will tell you how…

No matter the season, or position of the sun,

God bless us, everyone!

no matter the season, remember to care,

Make every day a winter affair!

Happy Winter Solstice, everyone.

I love you, no matter where you put the Sun.
